BSW Intermediate Hand Taps
Â
BSW Intermediate Hand Taps are designed for cutting accurate British Standard Whitworth (BSW) internal threads during hand tapping operations. These intermediate or second-cut taps are used after a taper tap to progressively form precise threads while reducing cutting resistance and improving thread accuracy. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) for durability and reliable performance, BSW hand taps are suitable for engineering, restoration, automotive, maintenance and general workshop applications. Ideal for threading materials including mild steel, carbon steel, cast iron and other machinable metals, they provide consistent results for new thread production and thread repair.
HSS APPLICATIONS
- Suitable for general purpose use in hand or machine operations
- Taps are produced with precision ground threads
- Good for cutting new threads
- Suited for use in a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials
