These intermediate or second-cut taps are used after a taper tap to progressively produce clean and precise threads with reduced cutting resistance. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) for durability and reliable performance, BSF hand taps are suitable for threading a variety of materials including mild steel, carbon steel, alloy steel and other machinable metals.
